Over the last 2 years, a vision has been incubating here in Atlanta within a community of singers, musicians, and record producers. The vision involves exporting songs of love and redemption to the world, through this network of Atlanta artists who write together, dream together, and “do life” together. It also involves discovering new talent in our city to pull into the ranks. After many a “think tank” by some of its core members, the decision was made to brand this community and set up shop under the name ONE Atlanta Music.
ONE Atlanta Music is made up of artists, writers, and producers with diverse musical backgrounds creating music for this generation and those to come – music that crosses genres, addresses multi-cultural challenges, and connects with a culture that is looking for something timeless. Atlanta is brimming with something worth sharing, and it’s time to create an avenue for it.
Founding members of ONE Atlanta Music include:
- Producer Dan Hannon, whose work with Aaron Shust has produced three Dove Awards for the new artist; Dan is also well known for his developmental work with Atlanta bands like Manchester Orchestra, who recently signed to Columbia Records, and Elevation, recently signed to 50 Records.
- Danny Stephens, co-founder of the multi Grammy and Dove Award nominated band Smalltown Poets, who has been working with Atlanta songwriters and musicians for many years, the last several as Music Director of Northpoint Ministries’ Buckhead Church, a position he left recently to go full time with ONE Atlanta Music.
- Jamie Portee, who has produced and engineered recording sessions for artists like Darryl Hall, Gladys Knight, and even Michael Jackson. His work with sister act Out of Eden netted him a Dove award. Jamie’s wife is best known for her platinum and gold singles on So So Def Records under the artist name INOJ.
- David Fussell, our “business guy,” who has 30 patents and is acknowledged as an expert on bringing innovative products to market . David has negotiated licensing agreements with major companies for his own products, as well as those of his clients, in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Europe, and Asia. David has successfully negotiated licenses with Major League Baseball, the NFL, the NBA, the NHL, and the Olympics, working with athletes and entertainers such as Mickey Mantle and Michael Jackson.
The ONE Atlanta Music community will be releasing collaborative efforts by singers, songwriters, and musicians from the four corners of the city. The first such project is currently in pre-production and will be available through Itunes, Napster, Rhapsody, MusicNet, Amazon and other digital music delivery services, as well as various retail outlets and churches.
We will also be active in the greater community, where we’ll be doing things like hosting music events and partnering with local charity groups to help the needy.
ONE Atlanta Music is a community of artists with a vision for sharing collective creativity with a world seeking truth and redemption; ours is a city brimming with songs of hope for a new generation.
